Fredstan welcomes Bengans

The new store will open at Drottninggatan 54 at the beginning of September. For over 40 years, Bengans has been the natural choice for music in Gothenburg, where Gothenburgers have found their records and concert tickets. Today, the range includes records, books, merchandise, and tickets. Bengans has both imports and its own distribution of Swedish artists' records.

– We are excited to open a Bengans store right in the city. Drottninggatan and Fredstan feel absolutely right for us, a jumble of shops and cafés and close to both arenas and transport hubs. The premises also feel good for signings and smaller performances. Moreover, it's easy for our regular customers to find and just as easy for new customers to simply walk in, says Peter Sandberg, Bengans.

With the centrally located store in the area, Bengans will contribute to revitalizing the district. Previously, Michael Kors, Chanel Beauty Store, Galleri Fredstan, and da Matteo have opened in Hufvudstaden's properties in Fredstan.

Hufvudstaden's initiative to strengthen the offerings around Fredsgatan began as early as 2016, and now the investment is entering the next phase. By both preserving and modernizing parts of the area, Hufvudstaden aims to create a vibrant district characterized by a clear identity, charming street environments, and many meeting places. The work to develop Fredstan is carried out in collaboration with Vasakronan, Gothenburg City, and other property owners in the area.
